Drunken youth's car turns turtle at midnight
Gaurav Sharma (22) rammed his speeding Maruti car -- reportedly in an inebriated condition -- into a road-divider adjacent to a police picket near Safdarjung's tomb around 11.30 p.m. today. His car turned turtle. Sharma, a resident of Pushp Vihar in south Delhi, sustained minor injuries. None of the policemen were injured. Police said Gaurav had consumed so much liquor that he was ``absolutely incoherent''. They got his name and address after rummaging through his belongings.

Reward doubled
Commissioner of Police V.N. Singh on Friday announced that the reward for information on the Jain double murder in Saket had been increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000. N.P. Jain (69) and his wife Indrani (55) were found bludgeoned to death in their M-Block residence on December 26.

Hollywood stars
Hollywood stars Richard Gere, Steven Seagal, Harrison Ford and Goldie Hawn have confirmed that they will attend a concert here on March 27, organised to highlight the plight of Tibetan refugees. The Dalai Lama will also attend the concert.

Theft in 5-star shop
Jewellery and handicrafts worth over Rs 15 lakh were stolen from a shop in Hotel Vasant Inter-Continental (south Delhi) on Wednesday night.

Students clash
A Khalsa student's ire over being refused entry into the annual festival at Ramjas yesterday sparked off a clash between two groups of students this afternoon.
