UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
ITANAGAR, Jan 19: A 30-member ministry was sworn in Arunachal Pradesh today under the new new leadership of Mukut Mithi here today. The new chief minister said that his government will accord top priority to bringing back ``total peace'' in the state.

Talking to newspersons at Raj Bhawan, just after the swearing-in ceremony, Mithi said he would ``reform the system to provide an effective administration to the people.'' Except ten, all the other ministers were drawn from the outgoing government.

The chief minister said the portfolios to the new council of ministers would be allocated in a day or two. Mithi said refugees problem, inter-state boundary issue and unemployment will be accorded priority by the new government.

He said his government would see to it that all Chakma and Hajong refugees were ``sent out'' of Arunachal Pradesh. But he was not demanding deportation of the refugees from the country. They may be rehabilitated elsewhere in the country but not in Arunachal Pradesh, he added.

He saidhe would pursue the steps initiated by the outgoing government in regard to other problems. He said proper planning and policies would be initiated by the new government so that the maximum number of educated people could be provided employment.

On the retrenchment of hundreds of casual labourers by the previous government, Mithi said his government would review the matter ``sympathetically''. He said the financial position of the State was not rosy despite the tall claim of the previous government that Arunachal Pradesh was one of the best financially managed State in the country. He would take stock of the situation after assuming office.

On the reported threat of underground outfits like National Security Council of Nagaland (NSCN), especially in Tirap and Changlang districts, Mithi said he favoured a peaceful solution through dialogue. On the question of merging the Arunachal Congress (M) with the Congress, he said ``we have not discussed the issue with the Congress. Please wait for sometime, we shalllet you know the exact thing soon''.
