CHANDIGARH, Jan 19: The strike at the Government College, Sector 11, entered eight day today with two boys continuing on a fast-unto-death in front of the college gate. The students are protesting the arrest of their college president.The students met UT Adviser Jagdish Sagar today and submitted a memorandum. According to D.P.S. Randhawa, president Panjab University Campus Students Council, the students would block traffic on January 21, if the Administration did not take any decision tomorrow.
AIDS awareness camp organised
As a part of their silver jubilee celebrations, the Food and Crafts Institute, Sector 42, today organised an awareness camp on the dreaded disease, AIDS.
A talk on the `Anatomy of Virus' and the physical aspects of AIDS was delivered by Dr Ajay Wanchoo from the Department of Internal Medicine, PGI. Dr Ajit Awasthy from the Department of Psychiatry, PGI, stressed upon the need for safe and protected sex while stressing upon the alarming increase in the number of AIDS infected people in the country.
A question answer and a counselling session was also held in which students' queries were answered by experts.
