MUMBAI, JAN 20: Former national champions Arup Basak of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and M S Mythili of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited won the men's and women's singles titles on the final day of the Petroleum Sports Control Board inter-unit Table Tennis tournament played at the Navi Mumbai Sports Association.Basak who defeated S Sriram of Hindustan Petrochemical Limited (HPCL) in the semi-final, had to struggle past the junior national champion Subhajeet Saha of Oil India Limited (OIL) in five sets 21-16, 21-15, 13-21, 17-21, 21-16 to clinch the title.
While Chennai based Mythili of BPCL got past B Bhuvaneshwari in straight sets with scores reading 21-9, 21-13, 21-17. Earlier in the day, Mythili got better of Chaitali Hate of BPCL 21-13, 21-15, 21-17 in the semi-final with three straight sets victory.

Men's singles (final): Arup Basak (HPCL) bt Subhajeet Saha (OIL) 21-16, 21-15, 13-21, 17-21, 21-16.
Semi-finals: A Basak bt S Sriram (HPCL) 21-14, 21-9,21-18, S Saha bt Arjun Dutta (IOC) 21-10, 12-21, 21-18, 16-21, 21-14.
Women's singles (final): M S Mythili (BPCL) bt B Bhuvaneshwari (BPCL) 21-9, 21-13, 21-18.
Semi-finals: B Bhuvaneshwari bt Mouma Das (OIL) 21-7, 21-19, 21-19, M S Mythili bt Chaitali Hate (BPCL) 21-13, 21-15 21-17.
