Sena firm on disrupting Pak tour
Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has said Pakistan cricket team will not be allowed to play in India and made sarcastic remarks about Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee asking Shiv Sena to fight Pakistan along the border.

Security steps underway
Intelligence Bureau officials will be arriving in Chennai soon to hold discussions with police officials here over security arrangements to be made in connection with the Indo-Pakistan cricket match to be held here from January 28 despite the Shiv Sena's threat of disruption.

Cong backs President
The Congress, on Wednesday, became the first political party to join the current debate on increasing the number of judges from among SC/STs and women, by backing President K. R. Narayanan suggestions to Chief Justice J. S. Anand on the issue.
