SURAT, JAN 20: An important meeting of taluka-level government officials will be held at the district collectorate on Thursday afternoon to chalk out details of the State government's Sankalp Siddhi Yatra, aimed at popularising welfare schemes.

Sankalp Siddhi Yatras will begin from all taluka headquarters from January 26 and will conclude on February 2 as part of a state government plan to educate people regarding it's various welfare schemes.

While Additional District Collector M B Patel will preside over the meeting, heads of all government departments, taluka mamlatdars, taluka development officers (TDO's) and all chief officers of nagarpalikas of the district, will attend the meeting.

A collectorate statement issued here on Wednesday said the programme was aimed at disseminating information regarding various welfare schemes. Officials of all departments have been directed to make posters, banners, leaflets and other material to be used in the yatras.

Deputy Information Director Cecil Christie said in a statement that all yatras will begin simultaneously from taluka headquarters on the Republic Day and pass through villages of the respective talukas, where they will camp during the nights. A number of film shows, exhibitions and cultural programmes have also been organised as part of the programme. The yatras will return to the taluka headquarters on February 2.
