CHANDIGARH, JAN 22: Factionalism in the local Congress is resurfacing if today's meeting of local Congressmen was any indication.Congressmen, owing allegiance to the former Chandigarh Territorial Congress chief Pawan Kumar Bansal today met at a meeting to reiterate their support to him.
Today's meeting was attended by many office-bearers of the CTCC. Prominent among whom include B.B. Bahl, Subhash Chawla, Surinder Bhatia, O.P. Verma, D.D. Jindal, Lalit Joshi and presidents of the Seva Dal and NSUI, besides other CTCC secretaries.
Even though the meeting was termed as a "routine get-together", undertone was clearly to highlight the support to Bansal, whom they declared to be "their leader". They later urged Bansal to organise the party and prepare for the polls, which, they felt could take place anytime ``given the political situation prevailing in the country''. The partmen also declared Bansal as ``their candidate'' for the next polls.
