CHANDIGARH, JAN 22: Bright sunshine today greeted north-west region, providing a welcome respite from freakish weather triggered by prolonged spell of fog followed by intermittent rain during the past two days.According to agricultural experts, the rain has brightened the prospects of rabi crops in the region.The minimum temperature at most of the places in north-west plains rose one to four degrees above normal during the past 24 hours.
In Haryana, Hisar recorded a minimum temperature of 9.9 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. Rohtak also recorded the same minimum, while it was one degree above normal in Ambala at 7.6 degrees Celsius. In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a minimum of 6.1 degrees Celsius, one degrees above normal. Patiala had a minimum of 6.9 and Ludhiana 6 degrees Celsius.
In Himachal Pradesh, the minimum temperature in Shimla was 4.6 degrees Celsius, which was three degrees above normal.
Nahan had a minimum of 12 degrees Celsius, while Sundernagar had 4 degrees and Una 4.7 degrees Celsius.
