Sudhir, Yogesh shape Brighto win

NEW DELHI, January 22: Sudhir Giri of Brighto Cricket Club impressed with his all-round display against Shanti Sports Club in the BDM Challenge Cup. Giri played a career best knock of 121 runs and later claimed three wickets to steer his team to victory.

Shanti made 247 for nine wickets in allotted 45 overs. O' Neil Wilson gave Shanti a flying start with a brilliant 81 runs while Aditya contributed with 68 runs. For Brighto, apart from Giri, Jitender Chaudhary claimed three wickets giving 27 runs.

Chasing the total, Brighto made 251 losing seven wickets. Giri's 121 runs came off 109 balls. Yogesh Tyagi scored 58 while 12-year-old Dhan Raj Bisht had a hat-trick.

Brief Scores: Shanti Sports Club: 247 for 9 in 45 overs (O' Neil Wilson 82, Aditya 68, Jai Raj 22n.o., Jitender Chiudhary 3/27, Sudhir Giri 3/43, Sushil 1/47) lost to Brighto: 251 for 7 in 42 overs (Sudhir Giri 121 n.o., Yogesh Tyagi 58, Sushil 36, Wilson 2/38, Dhan Raj Bisht 3/66).
