Jasdev Singh retired as Deputy Director General Doordarshan in 1989. He lamented that he had to part with Doordharshan and AIR, ``which gave me name and fame,'' in such a manner. He also expressed his gratitude to the print and electronic media for appreciating his work over the years. He also made it clear that he was only disassociating himself from Doordarshan and All India Radio and not from the electronic media.
