Photographer drugged, robbed

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, Jan 22: Shen Nawaz Khan, a senior photo journalist with The Statesman, was robbed of his camera kit worth Rs 40,000, Rs 500 in cash and some important documents after he was allegedly drugged while travelling in a DTC bus yesterday.

According to the complaint registered with the police, Khan had boarded bus number 166, which commutes between Palika Kendra and Shalimar Bagh around 9 p.m. last night from the bus-stand near his office. He sat in the rear seat. Khan says that he remembers the journey till Paharganj only. Around 11.30 p.m. he found himself lying on a pavement in Punjabi Bagh. An auto-rickshaw passing by dropped him at his Shalimar Bagh residence.

In his complaint, Khan has said that he does not recall anyone sitting next to him in the bus and neither did anyone offer him eatables. Doctors at Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, where Khan was treated, suspect that he had been drugged.
