Dowry case against seven
The Karelibaug police have registered a case against seven people for torturing a woman for dowry. In her complaint, the woman alleged that ever since her marriage she was being pressurised by her husband and other in-laws to bring in more dowry. Recently, they beat her up and forced her to leave the house, she alleged. The woman is now living with her parents in Kashibanagar. PSI B S Joshi is conducting the investigations.

Tyres stolen
Tyres worth Rs 18,000 were stolen from Tyre Point, a shop near Dhanlakshmi Petrol Pump on Ranoli Crossing, on Friday night, the police said. According to police, thieves broke open the shutter and escaped with the goods. Investigations are on.

Theft
One Pankaj Govindlal Shah's purse containing Rs 1,100 was stolen when he was about to board a ST bus near Padmavati Shopping Centre bus stand on Friday, the police said. The Raopura police have registered a case and are investigating.
