Revolt in RJD against Laloo

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
PATNA, JAN 25: Office-bearers of RJD's State Youth Committee today expressed strong resentment against the party's national president, Laloo Prasad Yadav's announcement dissolving the youth committee, and challenged Yadav to prove the allegations against the youth wing.

The vice-president and general secretary of the dissolved committee, Dhananjay Kumar Raju and Ajay Kumar, said in a joint press statement that the RJD president should make public the charges of corruption levelled by him (Laloo Yadav) against the party's youth leaders.

They demanded that Yadav also declare names of the youth activists involved in ``extortions, blackmailing''.

Raju and Kumar threatened that if their party's supremo failed to entertain their demands, youth activists would be compelled ``to highlight evidences against corrupt ministers and other leaders of the party.''

They also demanded sacking of ``corrupt'' ministers in the Rabri Devi Cabinet.

Terming as ``unjustified and uncalled for'' Laloo Yadav's announcement todissolve the RJD State Youth Committee, they said that the allegations levelled by RJD president against youth activists were baseless.

Yadav had, while inaugurating the new office of his party's State unit here on Friday, announced his decision to dissolved the youth committee.

He had charged the party's youth leaders with ``indulging in unfair activities''.
