VADODARA, Jan 25: The National Alliance of People's Movement national convenor and Narmada Bachao Andolan activist Medha Patkar has sought a white paper on activities of Bajrang Dal.A statement issued by her said here on Monday that the brutal murder of the Australian missionary in Orissa Fr Staines was a major setback to the secular foundation of society of the nation. Saying that the NAPM strongly condemned the inhuman ideology propagated in the name of religion and majority, Patkar said it was time all the secular forces joined hands and openly asserted their views and protest against such activities.
She said the forces behind such incidents including those occurred in Gujarat were well known BJP and its comrades. The allegations against religious conversion such as in Gujarat have come from either the corrupt tribal leaders or isolated Sarvodaya leaders like Chunibhai Vaidya, she said and added people's organisations must come forward to take up the challenge. Demanding a white paper on activities of Bajrang Dal, she asked the like-minded fora to join hands and strongly protest against such incidents thus putting Centre to test on its secular and patriotic stance.
