Three held for robbing autorickshaw driver

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, January 25: The Delhi Police yesterday arrested three youths, less than an hour after they allegedly robbed an autorickshaw driver at knife-point in the Timarpur.

According to the autorickshaw driver, Navkanth Jha, the Tibetan youths -- later identified as Tashi, Kal Sang and Tassi -- flagged him down on the Ring Road. Jha says he was on his way to ISBT, Kashmere Gate.

The youths reportedly told Jha that one of their friends was injured, and they wanted to take him to a hospital. On the way, they suddenly took out knives and asked Jha to hand over his money. When the autorickshaw driver attempted to put up a resistance, they reportedly beat him up.

After taking away the money the youths fled the spot. Jha reported the incident to a PCR van in the vicinity. The policemen gave the robbers a chase and caught up with them near the banks of the River Yamuna.
