Gwalior match ends in draw
After the Pakistanis yesterday, it was the India A top-order's turn to crash down in a heap this afternoon. However, with hardly any time to press for a result, Pakistan agreed to draw their three-day tie with 10 mandatory overs to go and their rivals at 111 for five in their second innings. Maybe, with Salim Malik (122) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (96) having saved their reputations with a 149-run sixth wicket stand today in a second innings total 272, the Pakistanis felt there was nothing much left for them in this warm-up affair.

Agassi loses
The Australian Open lost two of its brightest stars today when former champion Andre Agassi crashed back to earth and Russian teenager Anna Kournikova's lucky run came to an end. Seventh seed Mary Pierce routed Kournikova 6-0 6-4. Vincent Spadea -- described by Agassi last year as a journeyman -- scored his biggest career win to advance to the quarter-finals with a 6-1 7-5 6-7 6-3 win over the fifth seed.

North Zone win
Holders North Zone today defeated strong contenders South Zone by 42 runs in the limited 50 over Deodhar Trophy league match despite a valiant attempt by South Zone middle-order batsman S. Sarath who scored an unbeaten 86 at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur.
