KCB to felicitate Dhanraj
With atleast five sportsmen from Khadki figuring in the medal tally in the recently concluded Asian Games, the Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) has decided to honour all of these on January 26 in recognition of their efforts.

Indian hockey team captain Dhanraj Pillay who won honours for the nation after 35 long years will recievea cash award of Rs 1 lakh at the hands of board president Brig Dr Mrinal Suman at the Republic Day function. Men from the Bombay Engineer Group (BEG) who have done the country proud in events like boxing and rowing by winning bronze medals will recieve Rs 25,000 each from the board president. These include Naik Subedar Jagjit Singh, Naik Subedar Kasam Khan, Havaldar Rampal Singh and Naik Birbal Singh. Vice president Baliram Sawant will preside over the function.

The General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC-in-C), Southern Command has also selected CEO Ajay Kumar for a special commendation. The medal will be presented by the board president on behalf of the Commander, Southern Command.
