CHANDIGARH, Jan 27: Under a 10-day programme, free eye camps are being organised by the Chandigarh Health Department in the rural, slum and under-served areas of Chandigarh.The camp will be organised from February 1 to February 10. A meeting of non-government organisations was held today under the chairmanship of Dr R.S.Sandhu, DHS, UT-cum-vice chairman in Poly Clinic, Sector 22, which was also attended by M.M.S.Gill, head of Eye Department, Sector 16 General Hospital, Dr Monica Srivastav from Government Medical College, Sector 32.
According to Dr Jaspal Singh Gill, Programme Officer, National Programme for Control of Blindness the following camps will be held as per schedule: Dadu Majra Colony, Mauli Jagran - February 1, Maloya Colony, Indira Colony, Colony No.4 - February 2, Khudda Lahora, Bapu Dham Colony - February 3, Kumhar Colony, Kishangarh, Dhanas - February 4, Burial, Kaimbala - February 5, Kajheri, Ram Darbar - February 8, Colony No.5, Hallo Majra and Khudda Alisher - February 9, Badheri and Makhan Majra - February 10, Palsora - February 11 and Attawa - February 13. Free medicine, food and spectacles will be provided in these eye camps.
