Good response to Sankalp yatras

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SURAT, Jan 28: Sankalp Siddhi Yatras, a state-wide week-long programme of the State Government which started from January 26, has been receiving a reasonably good response in the rural parts of the district, an official statement issued here stated. The programme was launched to popularise various state government welfare schemes in the rural parts of the district.

All departments of the district administration at the taluka-level have embarked on yatras from the respective taluka headquarters. These yatras, which include mobile exhibitions among other features including information of all welfare schemes, will pass through a number of villages and return to the taluka headquarters on February 2.

Eight more villages of Nizar taluka of the district have been announced `gokul grams' and would be developed on that basis, the official release said.

There have been reports of success achieved in the Sankalp Siddhi Yatras from all talukas of the district. Besides Nizar, Mandvi, Mahuva, Bardoli and other talukas which have been covered as part of the yatra, the district administration has also announced a number of new projects to be implemented in the rural areas.

A community hall will be built shortly at Lakkadkuva village of Bardoli, while a nursery is to be constructed within two months at Malgha village of Bardoli to ensure education for all children before the next academic year. Phulwadi village of Mandvi and Chodach and Amchak villages of Mahuva have been declared Gokul Grams. A number of taluka-level officials have been touring villages as part of the yatra.
