West dist cops raid factory making spurious engine oils

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, January 29: With the arrest of one man, the west district police claim to have discovered a factory where spurious car lubricants are manufactured. The mobile oil and grease is allegedly packaged and sold under popular brand names like Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum, Castrol and Servo.

The police had received complaints that spurious oil is being sold on a large scale in the Capital. The police today stopped a Tata-407 tempo near Uttam Nagar during a routine check. The driver said he was a lubricant supplier, and then allegedly revealed that the oil was spurious. The police say the tempo had 2,500 tins carrying 2,000 litres of mobile oil and 500 kg of grease. During the questioning, driver Bishan allegedly revealed that the factory where the fake oil is made belonged to Subhash Sharma. He also told the police about a godown at Golden Park in Punjabi Bagh where the spurious oil is stored.
