VIJAYAWADA, JAN 31: The Bajrang Dal plans to file a case against All-India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi under Section 295 IPC for allegedly not following the rules of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) during her darshan at Tirupati on January 28, according to Dal's East Andhra convener Syam Prasad Mukherjee.Addressing a press conference here, Mukherjee said TTD rules state that any non-Hindu visiting the Lord Venkateswara temple should sign a declaration before the darshan. Union Minister Sikander Bhakt and former Union railway minister Jaffer Shariff had signed the declaration when they visited the temple, he said.
Mukherjee alleged that despite requests by TTD executive officer and the archakas, Sonia did not sign the declaration. This, he felt, had violated the age-old temple custom. "It is nothing short of a cognizable offence," the Bajrang Dal leader pointed out.
The Bajrang Dal will also file cases against Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y SRajasekhara Reddy and other party leaders who claimed that Sonia was a Hindu and prevented her from signing the declaration and against the TTD executive officer for allowing Sonia to visit the temple.
Mukherjee said that the East Andhra unit of Bajrang Dal had decided to file the case with the consent of state president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. But before this, a complaint will be lodged at the concerned Tirumala police station in the same case within fifteen days, he said.
