All counters to sell return rail tickets
From Monday, commuters will be able to book their return tickets ex-Howrah, Delhi and Secunderabad from any reservation counter in the city. The system, said senior divisional commercial manager Manmohan Singh, was to improve facilities for commuters. He added, though, that there might be some teething problems. The system will be linked with the Mumbai passenger reservation system on an experimental basis from Monday, said Singh.Eight killed
Eight people were killed and eight injured seriously, when the State Transport bus in which they were travelling, collided head on with a jeep near Bhamaiya Crossing in the Godhra town of Panchmahal district on Sunday morning. According to the police, all the dead and injured hailed from Kapadvanj. While the bus was coming from Kapadvanj to Godhra, the jeep was on its way to Gawari from Godhra.
Leprosy camp
State Health Minister Ashok Bhatt inaugurated a leprosy diagnosis camp at Sindhrot village near here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, he praised the activities of various social fora in leprosy treatment.
2-day seminar
The Home Management Department of the Faculty of Home Science, MSU, has organised a two-day national seminar on `Women's Work Participation: Its Impact on Quality of Life of Family' from Monday. According to a statement, Shubhanginidevi Gaekwad will inaugurate the seminar, and Dr Devki Jain, Director, Karnataka Women's Information and Resource Centre, will deliver the keynote address.
