NEW DELHI, January 31: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said that her government believed in results and directed the public works department (PWD) to expedite work on projects launched by it.Addressing senior officers of the PWD after a technical presentation on its projects, Dikshit said her priority was the timely implementation of the projects launched and of decisions taken by her government, an official release said.
Expressing concern over the slow utilisation of funds by the PWD, the Chief Minister asked the department's officers to expedite work on projects such as flyovers, the Players' Building and the Delhi Sachivalaya.
She assured the officers that the government would extend full cooperation to help in the timely implementation of the projects.
She asked PWD Engineer-in-Chief K.B. Rajoria to see that all damaged overhead road signs in the national capital were repaired wherever necessary.
Earlier, PWD Minister Parvez Hashmi had sought the Chief Minister's intervention for the timely clearance of projects taken up by local bodies, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Delhi Development Authority.
A technical presentation about PWD works was made by Department Secretary Rakesh Mohan.
