Khurana thanked by tour agents

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, January 31: Members of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) today met former tourism minister Madan Lal Khurana and expressed their gratitude for his help and leadership in solving the various problems faced by tour operators. IATO president Subhash Goyal said that the industry will always remain indebted to Khurana for suspension of the service tax. ``The tourism industry has suffered an irreparable loss in his resignation,'' he said. IATO had earlier appealed to the Prime Minister not to accept Khurana's resignation in the larger interest of the country, particularly in view of the Visit India Year starting from April 1 this year.
