Junior colleges bandh call
Principals' Federation and State Educational Institutions Federation have given a call for a one-day closure of all the junior colleges in the State on Monday (February 1) to protest against the State Government ``not taking any decison'' on the pending demands of teachers.

It may be noted that the junior college teachers ended their 41-day long state-wide strike recently after being assured by the Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray that the matter would be taken up for discussion during the immediate next Cabinet meeting which was scheduled on January 25.

However, Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde made it late to the meeting and no decision could be taken about the teachers demands. The teachers have been demanding the implementation of the revised pay-scale recommended by the Fifty Pay Commission.
