GEB to have police officer

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
VADODARA, Feb 2: A police officer will be appointed in the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) as part of the State Government's measures to curb power theft. This was stated by State Home Minister Haren Pandya on Thursday. Pandya said the step was the first among other measures to be taken by the government to check power theft.

Pandya was addressing a meeting of senior officers of the GEB in Gandhinagar on Thursday. Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Dr V V Subbarao and Board Chairman Nalin Bhatt were also present.

Stating that the State Government was viewing power theft seriously, Pandya said soon a process would be initiated to appoint a police officer in the GEB.
