SURAT, Feb 2: Amity School, Bharuch celebrated the Republic Day with fervour and gaiety. While Chairman of the Dudhdhara Dairy Thakorebhai Amin chaired a function held on the day, Roshni Eye Hospital's Dr Yusafbhai Patel was the chief guest on the occasion.School children organised a number of sports and cultural programmes on the day, which included a march past. As every year, the best student award was also given, which went to Vaishali Modi, a std XIIth student. The 22nd issue of the school's bulletin Maitri Setu was also released on the occasion by Patel. In the inaugural address, the school principal said the school, established in 1986, was crossing new milestones and praised the efforts of the students, teachers and parents for their contribution towards the school's success.
Addressing the gathering, Dairy Chairman Amin stressed the need for a disciplined life and hard work. Praising the school for its various activities which contributed towards the over-all development of a student, he said school authorities should strive to make students better citizens. In his speech, Dr Yusafbhai Patel stated that self-confidence was very essential for becoming successful in life. Along with confidence, hard work was equally important, he said, stressing there is no substitute for hard work.
