Lisa Pereira knocks out Shruti Dhawan

New Delhi, Feb 2 Top seed Kedar Tembe (Ind) today advanced to the quarter-finals while third seed Karan Doctor and eighth seed Saif Ali (Ind) lost in the second round of the ITF Junior Circuit tennis championship here today.

Tembe prevailed over compatriot Shaivang Mishra 6-1 6-4. But Karan lost to fellow Indian Kedar Shah 4-6 3-6. Saif bowed out to Alok Bhide 6-4 3-6 3-6.Others who proceeded to to the last eight were second seed V Akshay Rao who edged past Ratiwanta Sanchi of Thailand 6-4 4-6 6-3, fourth seed Dipesh rao (Ind) who prevailed over fellow Indian Parantap Chaturvedi 6-1 6-0 and the fifth-seeded Mark Weaver (Britain) who overwhelmed Sarbinder Singh 6-0 6-0.In the girls section, top seed Sheetal Gautam advanced to the round of last eight. But second seed Shruti Dhawan lost her match going out to fellow Indian Lisa Periera 5-7 7-6 5-7.

Sonal Phadke also advances, defeating Harsimran Kaur in stright sets.Third seed Radhika Tulpule (Ind) lost her first round encounter to unseeded Olga Ozyuba ofKazhakstan 6-1 4-6 1-6. Ozyuba continued her winning streak as she defeated Ankita Bhambri 6-1 6-2. The top-seeded duo of Saif Ali and Karan Doctor lost to S Chandrashekhar Mohanty (Ind) and Zia 2-6 1-6. Fourth-seeded Indians Dipesh Rao and Kedar Shah bowed out to the Thai pair of Sonchat Ratiwatana and Sanchai Ratiwatana 3-6 2-6.

In the girls doubles, second seeds Radhika Tulpule and Radhika Mandke defeated Geeta Manohar and Kameshwari Vadali 6-3, 6-1 to move into the semis.
