Inter-college cricket
The sixth Late Shri Shankarrao Kawre Inter Engineering College cricket tournament 1999 got underway at the PYC ground here today. Nine engineering college teams from different parts of the city are participating in the event. The championship will be conducted on a league-cum-knockout format played over various venues in the city.

Mandar crowned Maharashtra Shree
Mumbai's promising body builder Mandar Chavarkar has been crowned Maharashtra Shree '99 held at the Janata Vidyalaya ground, Khopoli (Raigad), on Sunday.

A total of 168 body builders from 21 districts of the state took part in this annually held meet.
