Ravinder picked up his first gold medal of the day in the 1,500 metres race. He broke away from the pack of five runners at the bell to win the first place clocking 4:31.60. Bhajan Singh clocked 4:32.90 to win silver while Inderjit Singh got bronze in 4:43.25.

Ravinder's second gold of the day came in the 400-metre. His winning time was 54.00.

Kanwaljit Singh held on to win second place in 54.50. Jagtar Singh struggled to finishthird in 55.72.

Gurinder Singh and Inderjeet Singh won gold medals in triple jump and javelin throw events.

The discus gold went to Gagandeep Singh.
