PUNE, Feb 3: As many as 350 entries have been received from dogs all over the country for the Poona Kennel Club Championship Dog Show to be held at Poona Club Cricket Grounds on February 6 and 7.The show will be inaugurated by Additional Director General of Police, CID, M N Singh while Police Commissioner K K Kashyap will distribute the prizes. Pointers, Weimaraners, miniature poodles, bull terriers, bull dogs, Lhasa Apsos, Rottweilers and Chinese Shar-Peis are some of the rare breeds that will participate in the show along with the popular German Shepherds, Boxers, Dobermans, Great Danes, Setters, Labradors and Golden Retrievers.``While the best breed will be awarded the Late Soli Poonawala Trophy, all winning dogs will be awarded prizes,'' said Capt Sunny Jacob, honorary secretary of the club, at a press conference today. Poona Club Championship points are counted for the Dog of the Year Award.
The show will remain open to the public on both days between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
