Pak vows support for `Kashmiri struggle'

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
ISLAMABAD, Feb 5: Pakistan today vowed continued moral and political support for the ``Kashmiri struggle'' and claimed that the country's defence had ``become invincible'' after its atomic tests and ``the enemy cannot cast an evil eye'' on it.

``The enemy cannot cast an evil eye on a nuclear Pakistan which has become invincible... we are not only an atomic power, but Ghauri and Shaheen missiles are also an evidence of out impregnable defence in the world,'' Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif told the troops deployed at the Line of Control (LoC). Sharif, who air-dashed to the border as Pakistan observed what it called `Kashmir Solidarity Day', vowed continued political and moral support for the Kashmiri struggle since ``we do not have a mere geographical link with Kashmir, rather we have a relation of blood and ideology and, above all, we are tied in the bonds of humanity.''

Army Chief General Parvaiz Musharaf and Corps Commander Lt Gen Mehmood welcomed the prime minister at the Kel sector and briefed him on theprevailing situation at the LoC. Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz was also present.

Regretting that the international community had been ignoring the issue of Jammu and Kashmir ``especially in the context of the UN resolutions on Kashmir,'' Sharif accused India of rejecting Pakistani suggestions for third-party mediation to settle the dispute.

He however, added ``the nuclear deterrence has not got into our heads and we still believe in settling all the outstanding issues with India through talks.''
