PUNE, Feb 5: Three persons were killed and five injured in two separate accidents on city outskirts.Two persons were killed and two were injured when their jeep plunged from a culvert at Bhadale Vasti, a hamlet near Wagholi village on Pune-Ahmednagar highway early on Thursday.
The identities of the deceased were ascertained as Arun Rangnath Gursale (40) and Indrajit Genba Dake (45). The injured, jeep driver Balasaheb Amragare and Shahaji Dake were discharged after being treated with first aid at a hospital in Wagholi.
Earlier, in another mishap on Wednesday, a rickshaw driver identified as Kailash S Ambavkar was killed and his three passengers were injured in a separate mishap near the Kankaria Gas Agency on Pashan road.
Ambavkar was going toward Pashan when a truck heading in the opposite direction dashed against his autorickshaw. The injured, N D Koli, S P Salve and A A Yadgiwar, were discharged after bring treated with first aid at Sassoon hospital, police said. The Chatushrungi police have filed a case against the truck driver Shankar Baban Londhe from Pashan.
