Busy Saturday for players
The Indian and Pakistani cricketers have a busy day (Saturday) ahead of them even as the second Test between the two countries reached an absorbing stage. At the end of the third day's play on Saturday, the two teams will drive straight to the Prime Minister's residence for a tea party to be hosted in honour of the two teams. Later at night, the team members are expected to be present at a ceremony at Taj Palace to witness the Thomson Consumer Electronics' Most Valuable Player award to be presented to Rahul Dravid for his performance on the recent tour of New Zealand.Shotgun's visit
When activists of Shiv Sena dug up the Ferozeshah Kotla pitch, there were cries from all quarters to ``keep politics away from sports.'' But can politicians be kept away from the scene of sporting events? If it was the Prime Minister, Delhi's Chief Minister, Congress President and a host of other dignitaries seen at the Kotla on the opening day yesterday, it was the turn of actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha to make his appearance at the venue today. The BJP supporter was seen talking to his `friends' in the Pakistan team and sharing some happy moments.
Full house
The attendance at the Kotla ground improved considerably on the second day from what one had witnessed the previous day. With India having gained an overall lead of 126 runs with nine second innings wickets remaining, a `full house' is expected on Saturday, a holiday for many. DDCA, however, have not started sale of daily tickets.
