Onion traders' stir

Onion traders in Nashik have decided to boycott auctions of the commodity from tomorrow to demand the total lifting of the export ban. The traders' associations met in Yeola to unanimously decided to stay away from auction at wholesale marketyards.

Anandvalli firing n TWO developers, Ramesh Manilal Shah and his son Aniruddha, have been arrested in the Anandvalli firing case. The duo's anticipatory bails was rejected by the court on Friday. In the incident which occurred on January 30, security guards of the accused fired on a group of protesting locals killing one person and injuring 24 others. The death toll has risen to two with one more person succumbing to bullet injuries.

YC leader held

Thirteen persons, including Youth Congress leader, Suresh alias Munna Sharma, have been sentenced to three months' rigorous imprisonment and have been fined with Rs 500 each for pelting stones on a police station in 1992.
