NEW DELHI, FEB 9: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today reiterated that it will go ahead with its plan to construct the Sri Ramjanmabhoomi Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya by the year 2001.Briefing reporters about the outcome of the Dharam Sansad held earlier this month at Ahmedabad, senior VHP leader Acharya Dharmendra said that 25 per cent of the work for constructing the temple had already been completed. ``By 2001, the construction of the garbha griha (sanctum sanctorum) will be, technically speaking, completed,'' he said.
Asked about Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Home Minister L K Advani's assertion that the Government will comply with the court order on the issue, he replied: ``The Hindu saints and society will not be compelled to follow the orders of the judiciary. Moreover, the Supreme Court has already declared that matters relating to faith should be kept outside its purview.''
The VHP leader called upon all political parties, including the BJP, to implement the Hinduagenda. ``The Hindu agenda is the national agenda,'' he declared, adding, ``It is not a communal agenda.''
Expressing dismay at the BJP-led Government's refusal to implement the Hindu agenda, the Acharya said: ``Of the 40 points mentioned in it, the Government could at least implement the 37 points by deleting the difficult issues.''
He also warned the Madhya Pradesh government not to go ahead with its proposal to introduce in the state legislature a legislation to bring all Hindu places of worship under its control.
