RAJKOT, Feb 9: The Jamnagar Police on Tuesday arrested a former volunteer with the Saagar Rakshak Dal for allegedly raping a South African tourist on a Dwarka beach on the afternoon of February 7. A complaint in the matter had been lodged with the Dwarka police by the 28-year-old complainant, a resident of Cape Town who is currently visiting the religious city.According to the Dwarka police, the woman, who was staying at a local guest house, had gone to an isolated beach located at a distance of two kilometers from Dwarka. Seeing her alone, the accused, one Tappubha Vagher, went up to her and tried to engage her in suggestive small talk. The girl refused to be drawn into a conversation with him, following which the accused assaulted her and forced her to have unnatural sex with him, the police said.
