Two killed in road mishaps
Two persons were killed in different road accidents in the district on Tuesday. According to Makarpura police, Manharbhai, a scooterist, was run over by a private luxury bus near Kabir Complex. The bus driver was absconding, police said. One Ramsinh, resident of village Dashrath was killed in a hit-and-run case near a village school. He was rushed to S S G Hospital were he succumbed to injuries, police said.

Six bank men held
Wadi police have arrested six employees of the Mahalaxmi Mercantile Cooperative Bank for defrauding the bank about five years ago. A police spokesman said Ghanshyam Patel, Hiralal Mehta, Arvind Patel, Amrish Patel, Nilesh Kansara and Sunil Kansara were reported to have been involved in a case of embezzling about Rs 6.7 lakh withdrawn through bogus accounts in the bank. Police sources said that though the main accused Bharatbhai, a resident of Sultanpura, Vadodara was still absconding, the six staffers, four of whom had been suspended immediately after the detection of the case were booked under sections 408, 409, and 114 IPC for negligence and thus allegedly helping the accused.

Ban orders
City Police Commissioner J Mahapatra has banned carrying of arms and ammunition and assembly of four or more persons in the commissionerate limits, till February 20, an official release said here on Tuesday.

PASA arrest
Prevention of the Crime Branch police have arrested a habitual criminal and bootlegger Nazimkhan Jiledar Pathan, resident of Chishtiya Nagar, Chhani under Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) on Tuesday and sent him to Junagadh jail, an official release said.
