VADODARA, Feb 9: Solution for water-logging on the Vadodara-Jambusar Road could be in the offing with the Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA) and Padra Municipality deciding to lay a storm-water drain in Padra. A decision to this effect was taken at the Authority's Board meeting held recently under the chairmanship of Krishnakant Shah.Representatives of VUDA and Padra Municipality decided to share the expenses equally. The estimates will be worked out and the work would be undertaken by technical staff of the Authority.
In principle, decision was also taken to deepen the ponds and lay percolating wells in Sama, Chhani, Kotali, Harni, Bajwa, Dena, Koyli, Angadh, Undera and Karachia villages falling within the VUDA limits. The Board also approved a proposal for an underground drainage line for Under a village. The expenses will be jointly shared by the village panchayat and VUDA.
Various other proposals, including laying and approach roads in Kotali, Amaliyara and Kapurai villages, were also passed. The works will be carried out at a cost of Rs 5.5 lakh.
