DCP (north-west) Satyendra Garg says the accused have been identified as Devender, 22, Jaibeer, 27, Rakesh, 20, and Arun, 20. Devender had escaped from Sonepat jail last month. He is wanted in 24 cases of robbery, dacoity and motor-vehicle theft. Arun is reportedly involved in three cases of attempt to murder. When the police raided their hideout in Bawana yesterday, the quartet opened fire. But they were overpowered by the police.
