Having fun, the management way
A series of events with prizes worth Rs 80,000 up for grabs, coupled with loads of fun, is here in the form of Transcend '99. Organised by Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), this festival promises to be the grandest intercollegiate management festival this part of town to be held on February 11, 12 and 13.

There are literary events (Quiz, What's the Good Word, Mock Press, Mock Stock, Marketing Games, JAM) for the academic types, cultural events (Dumb Charades, Antakshari, Street Play, Poster Making) for people who like expressing themselves, informal events (Mock Fashion Show, Treasure Hunt, Face Painting, Blind Dates, Tug of War, 3-Legged Race) for those who just want to have fun - to be held at the SIBM campus. A fashion show, managed by Millennium to be held on February 11 evening at Nehru Memorial Hall, is open to all colleges.

And if you are lucky, you just might meet Olaf, the dolphin, the official mascot of Transcend '99.

The highlight of this festival is a rock show Thums Up Thunder Rock at Regatta, Koregaon Park on February 13 evening. The opening act will be by the local band Switch, followed by popular Delhi band Parikrama. With rock and roll and psychedelia as its foundation, Parikrama has an experimental approach, bringing about a beautiful blend with the tabla, violin, the Indian bamboo flute and sitar.

You can visit the festival's website at www.virtualpune.com/Transcend99.
