EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, FEB 10: A division bench of the Bombay High Court today directed the state government to submit a scheme for rehabilitating the 33,000 slum dwellers of Sanjay Gandhi National Park within two weeks.

The court asked the state to furnish details as to how the dwellers will be accommodated, whether they will be provided open pitches for construction of houses or whether the dwellers will be provided houses and if so, how much will they be charged.

The state has also been asked to furnish details on the construction of the 98 kilometer boundary wall as directed by the court earlier. Till date, just one kilometre has been fenced. The court also asked the state to furnish details about the shifting of the MAFCO factory, which is located within the park premises. The matter has been adjourned to February 22.
