Chaos at S'cruz airportThousands of passengers were stranded at the Santacruz airport this evening following disruption of nearly 20 flights due to the ongoing agitation by Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs).
Angry passengers of Indian Airlines and Jet Airways were seen shouting at the airport officials since the fog had worsened the situation in the morning. Senior Indian Airlines officials stated that they were helpless due to the go-slow agitation launched bythe ATCs.
Book on Parsis released
Governor Dr P C Alexander on Tuesday released a book, The Parsis in Western India: 1818-1920, edited by Dr Nawaz Mody, head of the University of Mumbai's civics and politics department. The book is based on various papers presented at a seminar held in the university on the contribution of Parsi community to Indian society. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor, who is also the Chancellor of the university, stated that intellectuals in the country should take part in politics instead of indulgingin arm-chair criticism.

Road at Poisar helps residents
Three schools and the residents of Poisar (East) have benefitted with the construction of a road running along the subway in the area. The road has been in demand for over 10 years. The construction was undertaken under the leadership of corporator S S Rana Singh (Independent) of Ward No 143.
