Liquor seized
The Vyara police arrested one Dilip Manilal Gamit, a resident of Andharwadi village of Vyara taluka, with 480 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth Rs 15,000 during routine checks. According to a release of the district rural control room, Gamit had illegally stored the liquor at his house. A case has been booked under sections of the Prohibition Act.

One drowns
One Ekta Suresh Bhil (22), a resident of Badekuwadoor village of Vyara taluka of the district, accidentally fell into a well while drawing water and drowned, the Kakrapar police said. Suresh Bhil, the deceased's husband, in a complaint stated that the incident occurred at around 7:30 pm on Tuesday. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered.

Self-immolation
Thirty-year-old Babu Walji, a resident of Umarwadi area of Salabatpura, committed suicide by setting himself on fire on Tuesday night. According to the police, he was rushed to the Ashaktashram hospital, but succumbed to burn injuries at 8 am on Wednesday. Although the reason behind the suicide had not been ascertained, a case under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been registered in the Salabatpura police station.

Two nabbed
The Udhna police arrested two youths on Wednesday from the Udhna area of the city for their involvement in an armed loot on Tuesday night. Rajesh Jagannath Thakur (24) and Kalpesh alias Zina Ramdas were arrested by the police after autorickshaw driver Nawabkhan Pathan, a resident of Mastanaqngar slum, told the police in a complaint on Tuesday night that he was carrying the accused as passengers between Udhan and Salabatpura when they threatened him with sharp-edged weapons and escaped with cash of Rs 2350. A case has been registered against the two, who will be produced before a magistrate tomorrow.
