Surve slams four for Don Bosco

MUMBAI, FEB 10: Rahul Surve, who scored four goals, was the hero of Don Bosco A's (Matunga) 8-0 victory over St Stanislaus B, Bandra, in the Boys under-12 Inter-School hockey league, sponsored by Colgate, at the latter's homeground today.

In fact, Don Bosco had a good day as earlier their B team had earlier beaten Hindi Vidya Bhavan 5-0 in an encounter of the same competition.

However, Stanislaus A scored a resounding 6-0 triumph over Our Lady of Remedy in yet another tie of the same competition.

Narinder nets three

Three goals by Narinder Singh enabled BARC overcome stubborn Indian Airlines 5-3 in Pool A of the BHA Third Division hockey league, sponsored By Punjab National Bank, at the Khalsa College ground today.

It was IA who scored in the very first minute through their ace striker Michael Gabriel. But BARC stunned them with the equaliser in the 24th minute through Mohammed Rafi.

In the second session, it was BARC who wrested the lead through Narinder in the 37th minute, but IA hit back through a field goal by Shailendra Joshi.

Rajneesh Kumar made it 3-2 for BARC before Narinder scored his second goal in the 49th minute. Narinder rounded-off the tally before Jesurun Solomon made it 3-5 for IA.

There will be no match at this venue tomorrow.
