HUBLI, FEB 11: Indian-born Swedish citizen Jonathan finally found his family in a small hut in Hubli on Monday.Incidentally, 28-year-old Jonathan (then Nisar and not Ishar as he had remembered) who was separated from his family at a railway platform, found them at the same place after long gap of 24 years. "I am very happy," was the joyful reaction of the mother, Morana Bi. Jonathan's brothers and sisters were also very happy with the reunion. But unfortunately, his father, Hussainsaab, is not alive to be a part of this happy occasion.
Jonathan jumped on to a train at Hubli railway station when he had gone there to give food to his father, and landed at the Bangalore railway station. Police then handed him over an orphanage from where he was adopted by a Swede, Tage Brift Froshan in 1974.
"I had decided not to marry till I met my parents, now I am very happy and peaceful," he told The Indian Express. When asked about his future wife, he said, "I am not going to marry an Indian girl, I'll marry aSwedish girl."
Jonathan does not want publicity. He is not certain when he is going back to Sweden. Will he take his family? "No, but I will come back once a year to see them," he said.
His mother, two sisters and two brothers live in a small hut in Mantur Road area in Hubli. His mother is a daily-wage worker, and the two brothers work as porters in Food Corporation of India.
His younger brother Husainsaab Mulla said, "I am very happy to see my brother. Let him stay wherever he wishes, we only want him to be happy."
Jonathan's mother identified him by a mole on his shoulder and scar on his head. "I had once beaten him on his head with a lathi when he was a kid. That scar is still there," she said. Jonathan was happily showing the marks to his family members and neighbours.
However, the police plan to conduct tests to confirm the relationship as some people in Vitla were claiming that Jonathan was their son. The police have already examined the blood groups of his brothers at Hubli. Furtherscientific tests will be conducted at Bangalore, it is learnt.
