MSU repoll hearing on February 26
Gujarat High Court has issued an interim injunction against implementation of an order from a Vadodara Court asking the M S University to hold repoll of its student union election by the month-end. This follows a petition filed by the university explaining its difficulty to hold the elections due to the examinations, as directed by the city civil court. The next hearing for the same has been fixed for February 26.

AIR strike
Five announcers of the Vadodara unit of Akashvani Announcers' Association (AAA) continued their indefinite strike on Thursday to protest against the government's failure to give them salaries at par with engineers and transmission executives. Senior announcer Kiran Patel observed a token hunger fast as part of the chain hunger strike launched on Wednesday.

Harni ATC tower
The `Bhumi Pujan' for the construction of the Rs 2 crore modern Air Control Tower at the Harni airport here was performed on Thursday. Municipal Commissioner G R Aloria, Senior Aerodrome Officer N K Sinha and senior officials of airlines were present on the occasion. The new structure will be 70-ft tall and house state-of-the-art equipment, Sinha said, adding that the tower would be completed in about 15 months.

IT meeting
The IT Forum of Vadodara under the aegis of the GESIA has organised a meeting of the IT industry with State Additional Secretary (Information Technology) K C Kapoor on Friday from 2.15 to 3.15 pm. The meeting will be held at the Guest House of the JCT Electronics Ltd, 8-B, Shobhana Nagar, Syed Vasna Road. As per the IT policy announced by the State, the government is planning to spend upto 1 per cent of its gross revenue, amounting to Rs 150-200 crores, on IT.
