Sahu, Swati make a winning start

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
MUMBAI, FEB 11: IM Shekhar Sahu and IWM Swati Ghate notched up easy wins on the opening day of the All-India Open International Rating chess tournament organised by the Thane District Chess Association at Town Hall, Thane today.

The 11-round tournament, which has apart from 39 children well-known names like Sahu, Ghate, IM Sharad Tilak and IM Arun Vaidya, has a total prize money of Rs 42,000, with the winner taking home Rs 10,000.

Seven-year-old Akshat Kundalia is the youngest participant in the tournament sponsored by Tanvi Herbal Products.
