The accused, Rajan Tewari was arrested by a joint team of Delhi and UP Police from the official residence of BJP MP Gangaram Koli at Ferozeshah Road in the heart of the Capital, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) B K Gupta told newsmen.

Tewari had confessed his involvement in the murder of Ajit Sarkar, a CPI(M) MLA from Purnia in Bihar, RJD MLA and former Bihar Minister Brij Behari Prasad, former UP MLA B P Shahi and Samata Party worker Pramod Singh, Gupta claimed.

He said Tewari was using the house of Koli, a BJP MP from Rajasthan, as a hideout and was planning to commit some crime in Delhi.

A .32 bore Lama pistol, 15 live cartridges and Rs 50,000 were recovered from a house in sector III R K Puram in south-west Delhi, which was alsobeing used as a hideout by Tewari, Gupta said.

Tewari is a member of the notorious Shriprakash Shukla gang, Gupta said, adding after the death of Shukla in a police encounter in the outskirts of Delhi last year, he took over the reigns of the gang. Koli was not available for his comments.
