In a chat with mediapersons here today, the IGP said that in order to check corruption in the police and traffic wings, in particular, surprise checks will be conducted in association with traffic wardens. There are around 20 traffic wardens in the city. He also sought public co-operation in this regard. Children will also be educated on traffic rules.

He declined to comment on the the Central Administrative Tribunal quashing the recruitment of 67 constables yesterday. The IGP, he said, has a limited role in the recruitment of constables.
